This year’s event saw competitors on day two don wet weather gear as the skies opened and instead of the usual heat heavy rain arrived making it somewhat soggy for the led steer judging.
Judge Michael Crowley, MLA, Armidale selected for his supreme exhibit a purebred Limousin shown by Red Bend Catholic College, Forbes.
The steer was the the heavyweight champion weighing an impressive 632kg at 15 months of age.
Reserve heavyweight champion was exhibited by St Josephs Aberdeen – a Limousin x Angus.
The champion heavy middleweight was exhibited by St Johns College Dubbo, a Speckle Park x Angus.
And the reserve champion heavy middleweight steer was a Speckle Park entered by Williams River Cattle Company.
Champion heifer was a Limousin exhibited by Kathy Curran, Deep Fields Lola Dice.
