A variety of artists, international and local, will perform on three music stages at Regrowth Festival 2017.
Beyond the entertainment, there will also be the opportunity to help the environment.
On Tuesday, Muswellbrook Shire Council approved a REGEN development application for the four-day tree planting and music festival, which will visit the park from January 20 to 23.
The event also received a green light to continue annually for a further two years.
Lake Liddell Recreation Area’s Stephen Thatcher addressed the meeting.
“We’re relieved it’s approved,” he said.
Before approving the application, council made some amendments, which organisers were happy to abide by.
These included signage around the lake, and some camping requirements.
A similar music festival, by the lake, about a decade ago saw 4000 trees planted in the area.
And, next year’s celebration is expected to double that effort, with 8000 trees to be placed at the location.
The Landcare festival will include workshops, stalls, art, food and cinema.
It aims to be environmentally sustainable, using only 100 per cent renewable energy.
They manage this by using composting toilets, hosting environmentally-themed workshops, and other methods.
There have been 67,000 trees planted since the beginning of REGEN events.
