Now, with her degree coming to an end, a great employee will leave us with big shoes to fill.
Just like every business, the chamber must weigh up the employment market and the needs of the organisation and make the best strategic decision.
Fiona came in and turned the administration of the chamber into a well-oiled machine.
Her bookkeeping skills, coupled with event management abilities and capacity to help our members, have made us a much stronger entity.
So, as we say thank you to Fiona, we look forward and reflect on the change that has occurred in recent times.
Fiona has streamlined processes and opened up time so we can now move forward and tweak the role.
We still need an admin guru with great accounting fundamentals but we also can now use the role to service the needs of customers in a more face-to-face way and hit the road to introduce the movement to more local businesses. We want this role to now be a combination of admin and business development.
I reflect on my time on the executive and the fantastic change we have driven and with recruitment of the right minds to the executive, combined with Fiona’s efficiency, I think the MBC is ready for even greater success.
I know talking people and recruitment is my lane, but I truly believe this has been the single factor that has led to the operational and financial success we currently enjoy.
Fiona has been a real breath of fresh air to our chamber and I personally wish to say thank you for your dedication, skill and drive.
On behalf of all chamber members I would also like to wish Fiona all the very best in her new career.
Keep an eye on the chamber website as we will be having farewell drinks sometime soon.
