Council is conducting a review of its community strategic plan, Maitland +10, which sets out goals for facilities, services, transport and infrastructure.
The plan also deals with the issue of local democracy and the connection between council and Maitland residents.
Council began its review of Maitland +10 last year. It is now looking for community feedback in response to the plan.
“We have been listening to the aspirations of our citizens for the city and we have had some great feedback,” council’s Strategy and Performance executive manager Leah Flint said.
“Council will further explore some areas raised by our citizens to further understand what the community would like to see over the next 10 years.
“Sharing your views will tell us the direction you want to take for these areas.
“There are plenty of ways to get involved in the conversation and we’re keen to hear from all members of the community.”
Education, heritage, environment, jobs, long-term planning and what’s next for Central Maitland will be council’s focus for the next six weeks.
One survey a week will be released during the period through maitlandyoursay.com.au and on the Maitland Your Say Facebook page.
Hard copies can be completed at the city’s libraries, Maitland Regional Art Gallery, Maitland Gaol or at council’s administration building.
