Clarence Town, who made the move back to D-grade to accommodate the Warriors, also got back on the winning board with a 52-26 win against Hexham Jets at Clarence Town Oval.
The Cobras and Warriors were notified of their differing fates on Tuesday afternoon.
Cobras coach Peter Maytom said the club was obviously disappointed to receive the news it had gone down from C-grade, but the players had responded admirably with a confidence boosting win.
“We would have liked the chance to redeem ourselves in C-grade after a few disappointing results, but it is what it is,” Maytom said.
“They wanted to put Woodberry up and we became the team that went down.
“As I said to the players, we can’t whinge about it as we played our way down there.
“But having said that it was great to see the smiles on their faces after walking off winners.”
Woodberry had seven individual try scorers and courtesy of transferred points sit fourth on the ladder behind Waratah Mayfield, East Maitland and Abermain.
East Maitland were hammered 68-4 by Gloucester but the Griffins were missing several players due to work and previously booked social commitments.
Paterson River became the latest team to smash the Maitland Pickers running out 46-12 winners.
Morpeth were no match for Abermain who won 34-4 at home.
Hinton ran in six tries, but unfortunately for them Waratah Mayfield ran in nine to record a 48-30 win at Hinton at Stuart Park on Saturday.
In D-grade, Maitland United showed encouraging form pushing third-placed Cardiff on the road, eventually going down 20-12.
Dungog continued their unbeaten run into B-grade, beating Kearsley Crushers 42-18.
Maitland United’s B-grade team are still chasing their first win of the season after going down to Dudley 48-0.
United’s Ladies League Tag team recorded their fourth win defeating Cardiff 10-6. Aberglasslyn won by forfeit.
