Sydney golfer Kim Burke and Hunter Valley Golf Club's Dale Hamilton took out the major singles prizes at the Hunter River District Ladies Golf Association's annual tournament.

Burke, from Shelley Beach Golf Club in Manly, was the open scratch winner carding 82 on day one of the three-day tournament hosted by Cessnock Golf Club.
Hamilton won the closed closed scratch title with a scored of 92. Belmont’s Sue Luisi won the Division 2 Open Championship with 106 and her clubmate Jane Child won the Division 3 Open title.
Day two shifted to Cypress Lakes Golf Club for the foursomes competition with an even bigger field of 116 players taking part.
The scratch winners were Dom Kelly (Merewether) and Jill Blenkey (Newcastle) with 81 off the stick.
The open net champions were Shelley Beach duo Helena Garden and Rosie Moore who carded a score of 72 nett.
The Division 2 scratch title was won by Branxton pairing Jan Scobie and Ruth McCarthy who carded 107
Shelley Beach duo Wendy Stapleton and Yvonne Bean won the Division 1 nett title with a score of 75 nett..
Merewether’s Julie Ann Davies and Marjorie Walker won Division 2 nett carding 76.
The third day was match play competition between Hunter River ladies and “The Rest of the World”, which was made up of players from seven clubs outside the district.
The world team won the title beating the Hunter ladies nine matches to five..
