Appeal after drums and speakers stolen from garage on Little Hunter Street, Maitland

Police are appealing for help to find a drum kit and sound system that was stolen from a Central Maitland home.

The items had been stored in a detached garage on Little Hunter Street that was temporarily left unoccupied on Tuesday.

Sometime between 1pm and 4.30pm, a Pearl drum kit and Sony wireless sound system with speakers were taken.

It comes after a TV, speakers, a DVD player and personal items were stolen from a Rutherford home while a family was on holidays.

The items were stolen from the Niven Parade home sometime between October 6 and 10.

The thief gained entry to the home via an unlocked door.

Central Hunter acting crime manager Detective Sergeant Mitch Dubojski urged people to lock their homes and vehicles and secure their items to prevent these kinds of thefts.
