Mansfield House will celebrate its 130th birthday this weekend, complete with an afternoon of high tea befitting the regal old mansion.
“It hasn’t had much exposure and celebration the last few years, but we thought we couldn’t let this occasion go by,” said the man behind Mansfield’s famed teas, Huckleberry Campbell.
Huckleberry has been hard at work organising the birthday bash, with the afternoon set to feature a packed itinerary.
Visitors will be treated to a strings duo playing music from around the time of the mansion’s 1887 birth date, while prizes will be available for the best dressed lady according to the white muslin theme, with a prize also for the most dapper boater hatted gentleman.
New Maitland Councillor Ben Mitchell will be the special guest, with a time capsule also to be buried on the afternoon.
The tea will run from 1pm to 4.30pm on Sunday. The $35 price includes afternoon tea and entertainment. Contact 4934 1828 to book a seat.
