Gabriel was joined by Norths’ teammate Will Fort and City United’s Isaac Barry in the victorious Hunter team, which went through the tournament undefeated, beating Riverina by 16 runs in a nail-biting finish on its home soil at Barooga.
The Hunter team, coached by City United’s Nick Bower, were dismissed for 117 in the 44th over in the final.
The normally prolific scoring Fort and Barry didn’t bother the scorer too much going for 0 and one respectively.
The Hunter grabbed three early wickets and maintained pressure to dismiss Riverina for 101 in the 46th over. Barry took 1-14 off four overs and Gabriel finished with a miserly 0-17 off nine.
Hunter made the final after beating Sydney West, Sydney South West and Western in the preliminary rounds.
