Tillys Play and Development Centre in Bolwarra has just received their first assessment and rating result.
The centre has been rated as Exceeding the National Quality Standards in all eighteen standards across all seven quality areas.
Jessica Taylor, the Educational and Quality Improvement Advisor for Tillys seven centres put the outstanding result down to the core values of the family owned and operated business and the accumulation of over twenty three years of experience the Tillys name brings to the child care industry.
“My parents Donna and Ron MacIntyre started Tillys in 1994 with a passion and drive to bring only the best quality care and education to the children who walk through our doors every day.
“Our spaces are their spaces. Somewhere they belong, are loved, considered as capable and resourceful and where we instill a life-long love of learning,” says Jessica.
Mrs Taylor also stated that the result reflected the quality of their educators, all of whom are chosen personally by members of the family management team to ensure that the whole centre has a shared approach to early learning.
“Our educators at Bolwarra focus on the development and maintenance of relationships with the children, their families and our wider community such as our local schools. This result is a well-deserved recognition of their dedication and hard work.”
The Bolwarra location is the seventh Tillys centre opened by Donna and Ron, with an eighth centre opening in Rutherford in 2018.
When asked how the family ensures that Tillys high quality reputation is upheld, she said that the secret lies in the fact that all of their services are managed by the family or very long term employees who are considered family. All of those people have spent many years on the floor as educators themselves and have varying teaching and child care qualifications.
“We are not a management team of accountants. We are a family of early education and care professionals. We stay true to our values and we do what we do because we love it.
“We have extremely high expectations of our Nominated Supervisors, Educational Leaders and Educators, who rise to the challenge, and as a team are consistently looking for ways we can improve and further meet the needs of our children and their families.”
Following their outstanding assessment and ratings result Tillys Bolwarra are now eligible to apply for a further assessment procedure to be considered for the award of an Excellent rated centre.
To date, out of over 15,500 approved child care services across Australia, just 49 have achieved the Excellent rating, with 13 of those services located in NSW.
