The first match saw Lochinvar clash with Bowthorne, with the latter team finishing up at 8/167.
Best for Bowthorne were Brad Duncan, who smacked eight fours on his way to 46 runs, and Anthony Kendell top scored with 48 including eight fours and a six.
Lochinvar were spinning into action with Jamie Wells rushing out to 27 with five fours, before play was halted at 3/51.
Elsewhere, SMR and Seaham played out a draw due to their match being ended early too.
SMR, batting first, setting a lead of 9/176, primarily helped by a mighty display from Joe Lidbury who scored 74 (not out) with nine fours and a six.
Seaham’s RJ Bartlett did the damage with the ball, claiming four wickets. The match was called off nine overs in, with Seaham openers Shayne Taylor and Cameron McLean combining for their end score of 0/39.
Port Stephens 1st XI were unable to capitilise on a bowling attack which shredded Lakeside Village Panther’s batting order, after their match too was called off early.
Port’s four pronged bowling attack did the damage, with Jeremy Kirk and Lleyton Eveleigh each claiming three wickets and Adam Butler and Allan Baldwin grabbing two each.
However, Port didn’t get a chance to play off the back of their bowlers hard work, getting in one over before the match was called off.
At Blackhill, the Raworth Rabbitohs defeated Regal Hunter Tigers.
The Rabbitohs batted first, slogging their way to all out for 168.
Captain Luke Glendenning was the main contributor, contributing 41 runs with four fours among them.
The Tigers batted second, but their 59 runs off of 16.3 overs wasn’t enough for them to claim a win under the Duckworth-Lewis method.
In the only other A grade match played out on the weekend, Paterson beat the Port Stephens Pythons 2nd XI.
The results see Port Stephens 1st XV remain on top of the ladder, followed by the club’s 2nd XV.
Paterson sit on third, while Lakeside Village Panthers round out the top four.
