The Robert Beggs & Peter Hilder Memorial Vocational Education Awards and Industry Recognition Breakfast was held at The Mercure Monte Pio, Maitland on November 28.
Industry representatives from across the Hunter were recognised for their contribution to providing quality work placement opportunities for young people studying Vocational Education as part of their HSC in schools and TAFE.
Also recognised at the breakfast were all nominees and winners in the Vocational Teacher, Vocational student and Vocational Indigenous student of the year awards.
The recipients of the awards were:
- Robert Beggs VET student: Bryceson King – Mount View HS
- Robert Beggs VET teacher: Heather Williams – Maitland Grossmann HS
- Peter Hilder Indigenous VET student: Tarnisha Winsor – Merriwa Central School
Youth Express thanked all the nominees and the recipients of the awards and said they looked forward to working with industry, business, community and schools to support our youth in 2018 and beyond.
