Shelter supervisor Kath Dunwoodie said the sale, which ran from Friday until Monday, helped clear out a large part of the shelter ahead of the Christmas holidays.
“We had a very successful weekend, we had lots of families found for our pets,” Ms Dunwoodie said.

The sale saw 15 adult cats and dogs go for half price, while there were 31 total adoptions for the weekend including kittens and puppies.
She said it was particularly heartening to see a range of older animals adopted out.
“Often we get people who come in for a dog that’s a bit older and a bit more mature, they know what they want and what they’re dealing with,” she said.
Ms Dunwoodie said there were still pets looking for forever homes at the shelter, with anyone considering purchasing a pet present for Christmas encouraged to do their research first.
