MAITLAND has enjoyed a few days of cooler temperatures.

But, the weather this weekend will surely remind us which season we’re in.

On Wednesday, there will be a 70 per cent chance of showers across the Lower Hunter, and the possibility of a thunderstorm in the afternoon and evening.

The temperature on Thursday will remain similar to Wednesday’s at a maximum of 27 degrees.

However, it will likely be more cloudy on Thursday, with a slight chance of a shower in the morning and afternoon.

On Friday, the temperature will climb again, reaching a top of 31 degrees.

It will be mostly sunny, with light winds, leading into a hot weekend.

Saturday will bring a forecast maximum temperature of 36 degrees, but Sunday will be the big one.

The Bureau of Meteorology predicts a hot and sunny day on January 7, reaching a maximum of 41 degrees in Maitland.

Thankfully, it is expected to drop almost 10 degrees on Monday, with a maximum forecast temperature of 33 degrees.
