Prices across central and east Maitland and Rutherford mirror greater Newcastle – with unleaded fuel difficult to find for sale below 140c/L.
However, relief isn’t far away for the Maitland motorist looking for a bargain.
A cluster of stations around Beresfield and Thornton have unleaded selling for 124.9c/L, headlined by BP Thornton, 7-Eleven Thornton, United Beresfield and Metro Tarro.
For those trying to avoid being gouged, stations spun off of shopping centres are the ones to avoid.
Coles Express at Heatherbrae and Hexham both have unleaded at 149.9c/L, while Caltex Rutherford and Caltex Green Hills are at 144.7c/L and 145.9c/L respectively.
