There are long delays for motorists travelling on the New England Highway on Tuesday morning
Traffic is queued for more than five kilometres in both directions at Tarro.
The delays started just after 7am after an accident involving a truck and car near Anderson Drive. Emergency services were called to the scene and remained on site at 8am. Two women in their 20s were reportedly treated for minor injuries at the scene.
Traffic is also heavy on the Pacific Highway approaching Hexham Bridge and Thornton Road approaching the New England Highway.
Motorists should expect significant delays, allow extra travel time and exercise caution on approach to the accident site as emergency services and traffic crews remain on site.
