In October, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, also known as newlyweds Harry and Meghan, will arrive in Australia for the Invictus Games.
People of the Hunter have already begun planning ways to encourage the pair to come to their patch.
In the meantime, we are looking back at the time 35 years ago when another royal couple – Charles and Diana, the Prince and Princess of Wales – arrived in the area.
Much to the delight of the huge crowd, they shook hands and addressed those present during a visit to Maitland in March 1983.
