It will be a return to rugby union.
When the 23-year-old dons the Maitland Blacks No.14 jersey on Saturday it will mark his first game since the end of 2011.
“I can’t wait,” Quinn said ahead of the Blacks’ first round Newcastle and Hunter Rugby Union clash against University.
It has been two full seasons since Quinn last set foot on a field.
It was a semi-final against Wanderers at home and Quinn, on the back of his maiden season in first grade, tore his ACL just five minutes into the match.
But after an extended stint on the sidelines a love of the game brought Quinn back.
“I haven’t been able to turn up and watch,” he said.
“But I’m still young and I wanted to give it another crack.”

Quinn will start on one wing and Rob Williamson the other replacing Lachlan Gulliver (injured) and Chris Logan (Nelson Bay).
Josh McCormack (Eastern Suburbs – Sydney), brother of five-eighth Ryan, will be another new addition to the back line alongside centre partner Sean Driver (rugby league).
Halfback Jono O’Toole and fullback Josh Gray return from representative duties with Newcastle.
As does second-rower Nathan Brennan but breakaway James Johnston has been ruled out because of concussion suffered from last weekend’s NSW Country Championships.
Johnston has been replaced by Sean O’Connor, who will make his first grade debut for the club.
O’Connor will play No.8 with Steve Belcher to slide to the side of the scrum to partner Nick Davidson.Dan Runchel returns as prop and will skipper after breaking his ankle in last year’s season opener. Kick-off is 3pm.
