A foundation principal has been announced for Maitland’s newest Catholic school.
Suzanne Fern will take on the role as principal of St Aloysius Catholic Primary School, Chisholm, from term 2 this year following a stint as principal at St Mary’s Primary School, Armidale.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for me personally, but also for the team, who will be with me to set up the school from scratch, drawing on our combined experience to provide our students with a superior educational experience from term 1, 2015,“ Mrs Fern said.
“I’m looking forward to
living and working in such a beautiful region.
“With the coast close by and the regional centre of Maitland just down the road, I think I’ll be getting the best of both worlds.”
Diocesan director of schools Ray Collins said Mrs Fern was well-placed to lead the new school.
“Suzanne is an outstanding principal, having worked at several Catholic primary schools in the Armidale and Lismore regions, as well as Diocesan Curriculum Adviser in the Catholic Education Office,” Mr Collins said.
St Aloysius is under construction and will be open to students from term 1, 2015. Those interested in enrolling their child for 2015 should contact the Catholic Schools Office on 4979 1207.
