From juniors to colts and then grade, the now 24-year-old has made his way to the top at his beloved club.
Not only that, but Davidson has made his name across the Newcastle and Hunter Rugby Union competition, contending for the first grade best and fairest Anderson Medal on a couple of occasions.
When the loose forward takes to Marcellin Park on Saturday for the Blacks’ fixture against Nelson Bay it will mark his 100th senior appearance for Maitland.
Blacks coach Bobby Tynan couldn’t imagine anyone else at breakaway and paid tribute to the way Davidson plays the game.
“We haven’t had many others at the club in 137 years that play with more intensity or a greater level then Nick Davidson,” he said.
“You put all the loose forwards together and he would be in the top three for go get them.”
Davidson, whose milestone comes one week after halfback Jono O’Toole notched up his 100th first grade game for Maitland, will line up alongside his Aberglasslyn housemates Steve Belcher and Jono Wotton at the back of the scrum.
The Blacks will attempt to snap a three-game losing streak against a much-improved Nelson Bay outfit, which includes former Maitland back Chris Logan.
The Blacks have gone down to Hamilton, Wanderers and Merewether after starting their 2014 campaign with wins against Easts and University.
Saturday’s encounter kicks off at 3pm.
In other round six matches Hamilton host Easts, Southern Beaches meet Lake Macquarie, University have The Waratahs while the pick of the bunch has Merewether pitted against Wanderers.
