The Pickers supplied 13 players in total to representative fixtures last weekend with Emma Young playing for NSW against Queensland while 12 other players turned out for NSW Country against City.
The sidelined skipper and dual Australian representative said she was confident her team would be right to go again on Saturday afternoon.
“We’re hoping they’ll all be good,” she said.
“I’m pretty confident they’ll be ok, we’ve given the girls more time to recover and we’ll have another light session on Friday.
“The game against City was extremely physical so we are worried about the bumps and bruises but that’s why we’ve stressed to the girls to take care of themselves off the field as well.”
Young said her sister-in-law Emma would be right to back up after suffering a throat injury against Queensland while hooker Kacey Cameron was a doubt with a knee problem.
“We’re a bit worried about Kacey with her knee,” she said. “But we’ve got a squad of 20 and we’ve been having 17 or 18 girls turn up to training every night so they’re definitely 100 per cent committed.”
Doonside were struggling with a number of injury concerns of their own but Young said the Pickers wouldn’t be taking them lightly.
“We’re confident with the girls we’ve got that we can get the win,” she said.
“We had them first up this season so it will be good to see if we’ve improved.”
Maitland easily downed Doonside 52-10 when they met earlier in the season and can move into a share of second place on the table with the top two teams Redfern and Canley Heights to play each other on Saturday.
The Pickers host Doonside after the first grade game against Lakes United at the Maitland Sportsground. Kick off is at 4.30pm.
