East Maitland Aquatic Centre will reopen from 6am on Tuesday, October 7.
Lynn Morton, manager of Maitland City Council’s Community and Recreation Services, said: “We’ve experienced some warm weather over the past few weeks and I am sure there are many people who are looking forward to cooling off with a swim in our local pools.”
Season passes, family passes and 20 swimming passes are available for purchase at the pools.
The 2014/15 fees and charges can be viewed at maitland.nsw.gov.au
Throughout the summer, Maitland and East Maitland pools will offer learn-to-swim classes and aqua fitness classes.
Maitland City Council’s Learn To Swim program includes nine weeks of 30-minute lessons by AUSTSWIM-qualified instructors and a certificate of participation.
“Swimming lessons are a great way to grow your child’s confidence in the water,” Ms Morton said.
“Enrolments can be made any time and fees will be altered for children starting mid-program.”
The Learn To Swim program is $90 per child and is available to children aged from six months to school age.
Enrolments can be made by contacting Camille McCluskey on 4933 5073.
“Council has employed 42 temporary and casual staff members as lifeguards and Learn To Swim instructors for the summer season,” Ms Morton said.
