The students agreed they had been stressed when they arrived for the exam, but soon settled down.
And while not all parts of the paper were to their liking, they did enjoy other sections.
“I was a bit anxious that I might forget things, but once I started I was in a more positive mindset,” Hayley said .
“Overall, the paper was better than what I had been expecting.
“After the HSC is over, I want to go travelling in Europe, then study nursing at TAFE.”
For Jordan, the paper contained more general science questions rather than specific questions on biology.
She enjoyed the various options in the paper, particularly those that required students to work out the structure of the eye, brain and ears.
Hayley wants to be a teacher and her favourite era is the 1930s, when she said, “There seem to have been more characters in world politics than there are today.”
Gabrielle said the biology paper was tougher than what she had anticipated.
“But overall it was a good experience and I think I have done all right,” she said.
For her, the future is also a challenge and she might put biology behind her as she hopes to study fashion design.
