Police have arrested two men following an alleged shooting at Heatherbrae this morning.

About 7.45am, officers attached to Port Stephens Local Area Command were called to Griffith Street, near the Pacific Highway, at Heatherbrae.
Initial inquiries revealed a shot was allegedly fired in the vicinity of an early model white Honda Civic sedan at the location, before the gunman fled the scene in an early model white Holden utility.
Police launched an investigation and intercepted the Holden utility about 8.10am on the Pacific Highway near the Nerong Road turnoff.
Officers stopped the vehicle and arrested two men, aged 20 and 25, who were taken to Raymond Terrace police station, where they continue to assist police with their inquiries.
No one was injured during the incident.
A crime scene has been established in Griffith Street, which will be examined by specialist forensic officers.
Inquiries into the matter are continuing and detectives are appealing for anyone with information that could assist to come forward.
In particular they would like to hear from any motorists who may have witnessed the Holden utility with a silver tray containing toolboxes, or the Honda Civic sedan, travelling northbound on the Pacific Highway, about 8am today.
