East Maitland easily accounted for their Coalfields rivals East Cessnock on Saturday by a 26-point margin in the Hunter District Bowling Association No.1 Grade pennants.

East Maitland defeated East Cessnock (70-44).
The game was played in humid conditions, however East Maitland never looked like losing their grip over their opponents.
East Maitland Bowls development officer Clay Parker said the conditions made it extra tough but his team never lost focus.
"It was the a good team effort," Parker said.
"It was very hot.
"We just stuck to our guns and did what we had to do.
"It was a good result for us on Saturday.
"I am very pleased with the victory as everyone played their part."
In Saturday's other encounter Kurri Kurri proved too good for Maitland City going down (77-51).
Meanwhile, East Cessnock and Maitland City have played out their next round clash.
The match was originally set down for next weekend.
However, both sides mutually agreed to bring the fixture forward one week to avoid a player shortage.
The Maitland Mercury understands an annual trip had been penciled in by both squads.
East Maitland proved too strong for Maitland City in the mid-week clash.
