Principal John Millburn is calling on a member of the business community to pick up the sponsorship in exchange for promotion.
The rockers have developed their skills and line-up over the past few years and
performed at events for both the school and wider public.
School principal and co-organiser John Millburn said it was a particularly unfortunate time to lose sponsorship as the band was playing the best it had ever done.
“It takes a few years to tutor, practice and rehearse the musical abilities and – now that the kids are up to scratch – they might not get an opportunity to play,” Mr Millburn said.
The money supplied by a sponsor would be used to hire tutors, rent instruments and purchase resources such as songbooks.
“It’s actually a great opportunity for a local business,” Mr Millburn assured.
“We put the business name in our band name, we print it on everything including our school newsletter and announce them every time we perform.”
Year six student and drummer, Jacob Briers, said performing in the band had given him confidence and great experiences.
“I like to play fast and loud,” Jacob said.
“I hope we get a good sponsor so I can get better before high school,” he said.
