Richmond Vale greyhound trainer Jason Mackay narrowly missed winning the first semi-final of the Golden Easter Egg at Wentworth Park on Saturday night.

His dog Zipping Midge jumped from box three in the fifth race, placing third in the 520m race with a time of 29.67 seconds.
Dyna Nico won the race in the No. 9 rug from box four, crossing the line in 29.55 seconds for trainer Andrea Dailly.
Mackay had Frost Yourself place fourth in the second Golden Easter Egg semi-final (race six) in 30.32 seconds.
Dyna Double One secured Dailly a second victory, jumping from box one to take the second semi-final.
“I am really pleased with that run tonight, the draw assisted, and hopefully he can do it again next week now,” Dailly said after the race.
Cranebrook trainer Melinda Finn had Winsome Senor in the third semi-final (race seven) but it failed to place.
Recruitment won the third semi-final for trainer Deborah Coleman.
Dailly then claimed a third Golden Easter Egg semi-final with Fernando Bale winning the fourth.
The $250,000-to-the-winner Group 1 Golden Easter Egg final is this Saturday night at Wentworth Park.
In box order, the dogs in the final will be Dawkins Bale, Zipping Midge, Over Limit, Dyna Double One, Dyna Nico, Recruitment, Ronray Spirit and Fernando Bale.
The reserves are Spacecraft and Zipping Abby.
