The Watoto Childrens Choir will perform a free show at Metford Community Baptist Church and without fail will evoke an emotional response from the audience.
Church co-ordinator Glenys Melcum is excited to see the choir return after a visit two years ago.
“This will be the second time the children have performed in Maitland,” she said. “Everyone goes away with an amazing feeling. These children are superb – they sing, they dance they tell their stories.
“They want to let everyone know there is hope and they love to know we support and encourage them.”
Most of the children are AIDS orphans or victims of disease and war from places such as Uganda.
“These are the poorest of the poor children who had no one left to care for them,” Mrs Melcum said. “They are now part of a program that takes them in. Each child lives in a house with seven other children and a mamma who loves them.”
Oh What Love live tour comes to Metford Community Baptist Church, Chelmsford Drive, Metford this Sunday at 4pm and everyone is welcome to attend.
