The Greta Branxton Colts have slipped back to fourth on the Group 21 competition ladder following a 26-22 defeat at the hands of frontrunners Scone.

The Thoroughbreds, who have lost just one match this season, accounted for the Colts by four points at Scone Park and have opened up an unassailable lead at the top of the table with two rounds remaining.
Scone are on 23 competition points with title holders Greta Branxton on 12, which includes the loss of five for an earlier player qualification breach.
In between, Denman joined Aberdeen on 13 following a 26-22 victory on the weekend.
The Colts host Denman at Greta Central Oval on Sunday in a grand final replay before finishing the regular rounds against last-placed Muswellbrook (6) on August 8.
Muswellbrook beat Singleton (7) at home 38-4 on the weekend.
In reserves third-placed Greta Branxton edged out Scone 10-6 but the under 18s were downed 28-24 by the Thoroughbreds.
In the women’s league tag Scone triumphed 44-6 over the Colts.
