Azzopardi won the feature, a $2015 grade 3-4 stakes race, with Paua To Roar after Boss Electro claimed the prior event and Shoulders clinched the program opener.
The successful outing for Azzopardi was capped off by Paua To Roar, narrowly edging out Wussell and La Grand Logie in a time of 25.23 seconds over the 450 metres.
Also experiencing multiple victories at Maitland last week was Central Coast trainer Kenneth Barnden, who had both Sid
Vicious and Paws For Effect get across the line.
These runners will progress to this week’s Winter Cup final, along with fellow heat winners Maple Vortex and Bull Eagles.
Second-place getters Cosmic Tyson, Little Ramona, Micrajewel and Bracket Creep were the others to advance to Thursday’s fifth grade decider over 400m.
Others triumphing at Maitland on Thursday were Mild Marina, Bev Shot and All A Miss.
Further afield and Richmond Vale trainer Jason Mackay was upstaged in the group 3 Laurie Healion Memorial final at the Gardens on Saturday night despite having three runners in the 515 metre maiden decider.
Zipping Sasha was third in Newcastle, Chevy Prince fourth and Zipping Comet seventh behind champion Good Odds Angel.
