Organiser Bruce Corke handed over $1500 collected from entrant fees last month and a further $3200 from the event earlier this week to charity director Peter West.
To top it off, Mr Corke’s 16-year-old daughter Laila held a fundraiser at Kurri Kurri High School that netted a further $500 for Ozzie Care.
“I’m very proud of Laila and her school for helping us out and I’m really happy with the result from the show,” Mr Corke said.
“I want to give my thanks to everyone at Ozzie Care who donated their time as well as Greg Gallagher and Wayne Martin, the speedway riders who were able to make it to our show from Canberra and the Maitland Street Rodders and other car clubs who all turned out,” he said.
Mr Corke said preparations were already under way for Motorfest 2016, which he hoped to expand to a two-day event.
“I can’t say too much, but we’re in talks with some special support and guests for next year,” he said.
“We’re not slowing down for anyone.”
Motorfest attracted more than 300 classic cars, hot rods, motorcycles and other street machines on Sunday. Three-hundred-and-eight vehicles featured in the Motorfest and about 2500 visitors passed through the showground to look at the vehicles.
