The Saints 12.11 (83) overcame the Magpies 11.11 (77) at Adelaide Street Oval on Sunday.
Goals to Rob Eddy and Christopher Pedler in the closing stages saw the Saints stop a fast-finishing Magpies outfit, who were within one point of the Saints midway through the final quarter.
Eddy finished with five majors and Pedler two, along with doubles to Wade Beard and Joshua Button.
The Saints led at each break, and by as many as 32 points at half-time.
Maitland now faces Terrigal Avoca at Newcastle No.1 Sportsground on Saturday with the winner progressing to the decider.
