Maitland motorists have had a reprieve at the petrol pump, according to the latest data released by price watchdog NRMA.

The average price of unleaded fuel in Maitland, 127.2c/l, was ranked seventh out of 49 regions surveyed across NSW for the week ending September 20.
It was a significant climb from the previous week, when Maitland had plummeted to 40th on the list after two consecutive weeks in first place.
Newcastle was ranked 26th on the latest list, with an average price of 130.2c/l and Singleton appeared 21st, with a price of 129.2 c/l.
The cheapest average price of unleaded petrol last week was in Temora, in the NSW Riverina, where fuel cost 122.5c/l.
The most expensive was 141.2c/l in Tumut, in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains.
