Prince Charles and his wife Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall and also the next king and queen, are due to land in the country on Tuesday.
News of their visit excited the Hunter’s royalist Ms Hugo, who runs the Monarchs of the Hunter museum at Nulkaba.
“It’s exciting,” Ms Hugo said.
“People my age will be very excited to see them and catch a glimpse in Sydney. Different generations enjoy the different generations of royals, but I think they will get as much fanfare as William and Kate.”
Ms Hugo has hosted two parties this week to celebrate the arrival of the couple and will head to Sydney to join the crowds of royal watchers on Thursday.
In what was already an exciting week, the television program Sunrise also hosted one of the morning segments from Ms Hugo’s museum, which boasts more than 10,000 pieces of royal memorabilia.
Prince Charles and Camilla have often been the centre of controversy, but Ms Hugo thinks now is their time to shine.
“I think poor old Camilla has had a rough deal,” she said.
“She is probably a beautiful person in the wrong place at the wrong time.
“And what a love story, because even after everything that happened through the marriage of Charles and Diana, they found their way back to each other.”
The couple will visit Adelaide, Canberra, Sydney, Albany and Perth from November 10 to 15.
The whirlwind visit will be Prince Charles’s 15th time in the country and the Duchess’s second visit.
The royal couple last visited in 2012 as part of Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee Tour.
