Exceptional citizens in the Cessnock Local Government Area are recognised by council for their contributions to the community each year, as part of the awards.
Nominations for the next round of accolades are open until December 11.
“The aim of the awards is to recognise outstanding contributions to the local community during the year,” mayor of Cessnock Cr Bob Pynsent said.
“This is your chance to recognise and reward the great achievements of those who work tirelessly for the benefit of our community.
“Winners will be announced on Australia Day at a civic reception at East Cessnock Bowling Club.”
Community members and organisations are invited to nominate in the categories of Citizen of the Year, Senior Citizen of the Year and Young Citizen of the Year.
Council’s awards for community events, sports, environment and heritage are also open for nominations.
Visit www.cessnock.nsw.gov.au, the Cessnock and Kurri Kurri libraries for official nomination forms.
