RSPCA shelters across NSW are bursting at the seams and the Rutherford shelter is no exception.
Forty-four animals currently call it home.
To give these animals the life they deserve and clear space for future animals in need, the RSPCA has reduced the adoption price to just $29.
“Over the leap year weekend, RSPCA is hoping to rehome every single one of the animals awaiting adoption across NSW,” the RSPCA’s Jessica Conway said.
“These animals belong in loving homes, not here.”
From Friday, February 26 to Monday, February 29, the adoption fee for every animal will be reduced.
All puppies, dogs, kittens and cats will be available for adoption for just $29.
Guinea pigs, mice, poultry, rabbits, rats and small birds will all be fee free.
All animals will go through the standard adoption procedures, including desexing, microchipping, vaccinating and veterinary checks.
“The promotion adoption prices are well under their treatment and care costs – costs that we will not recover. But RSPCA NSW wants to do all we can to find each and every one of these beautiful creatures a forever home,” she said.
“It is such a buzz for the shelter’s staff to see an animal, that has been here for a while, get a home and a happy ending.”
