Maitland accounted for Hunter Simba 8-1 and Weston beat Beresfield juniors 6-1 at Cooks Square Park on Saturday.
It was their first appearance in the annual national knockout football competition after having first round byes.
The next leg of the Northern NSW southern pool will be played in a fortnight on the weekend of March 12 and 13.
However, First Division sides such as the Thornton Redbacks, who defeated New Lambton 6-1 at Lisle Carr Oval on Saturday, will face midweek games because their regular season begins on the same dates.
Also progressing were top flight clubs Edgeworth (20-0), Broadmeadow (17-0) and Lambton (10-0) after racking up double figures against Muswellbrook, Hamilton Azzurri juniors and Kotara South respectively.
Raymond Terrace (5-1) and Medowie (7-0) both fell short against West Wallsend and Dudley Redhead United respectively.
Singleton, Charlestown City, Adamstown, Hamilton and Valentine were also successful.
Jesmond triumphed over Morisset 5-4 in a penalty shootout after a 2-all draw at the end of normal time.
