With backing band The Showdown in tow, Miss Quincy, aka Jody Peck, is back in Oz to tour third record Roadside Recovery.
The album, produced by Matthew Rogers, is a gritty, whisky-soaked document of thousands of kilometres travelled and the bars and dive venues too numerous to count.
Miss Quincy and the Showdown have received critical acclaim already on their overseas performances, with Peck's "powerhouse voice" lauded alongside the band's high-energy blues and soul-infused rock 'n' roll.
People connect with the band for many reasons," Peck says in a recent interview.
"We are definitely not cornered into a blues and rock n' roll scene.
"We leave space for the performance to react to the setting.
"Sometimes we're the party band, sometimes we play house concerts.
"Sometimes it's loud guitars and shots and sometimes we provide a dialogue through songs.
"We can do this because the music is rooted in songs and good songs speak to everyone."
Miss Quincy plays the Grand Junction on Friday, March 18.
