Maitland’s blooding of youngster has paid off with the team making the A-grade final of the Hunter River District Golf Associations pennants.

Maitland secured its spot in the final against The Vintage with a 3-2 win against Singleton at Muswellbrook on Sunday.
The Vintage swept aside Kurri Kurri 5-0 to finish the season in top spot.
Maitland had to win its final game, with Muswellbrook having the bye and able to jump them on points.
Teenagers Clayton Small, Trent Park and Will Fraser played a major role in Maitland’s success this year.
At 42, Melville is the oldest member of the team, and has been able to blend the teen’s youthful enthusiasm with experienced players Chris Burdekin, Dave Connaughton, Steve Lill and Andrew McKenzie.
The venue for the final has yet to be decided.
In B-grade, Maitland lost its semi-final against Stonebridge on the last hole going down 2-1.
The B-grade final will be between Stonebridge and Branxton at a venue to be announced.
Patterson defeated Maitland 3-0 in the C-grade competition, which has not reached the finals stage yet.
In the seniors, The Vintage meet Paterson and Dungog plays Denman in next Sunday’s semi-finals.
