The Newcastle Rebels under-16 and under-18 sides start their Country Championship campaigns on Saturday with a strong Coalfields contingent in their ranks.

Cessnock pair Nicholas Lawrence and Hayden Yates, Kurri Kurri’s Jordan Mitchell, young Maitland Picker Jesse Hourn and Thornton Beresfields Gary Anderson are in the under-18 side which takes on Central Coast at Berkley Oval.
Another Maitland Picker Tyrone Ott is in the extended squad and expected to play in the campaign.,
Greta Branxton leads the way in the under 16s with three players Travis Owen-Sams, Declan Keegan and Max Rae to face Central Coast.
Thornton Beresfield has two players Kamilo Tuivaiti and Thomas Green in the young Rebels. They are joined by West Maitland’s Samuel Gratten.
The Rebels will play three matches in the qualifying rounds.

- Under-18s: Aaron McGrady, Gary Anderson, Ethan Harris, Carl Randall, Jesse Hourn, Isaac Worboys, Jarrod Balcomb, Tyler Johnson, Nicholas Lawrence, James Wilson, Feleti Mateo, Joel Taylor, Jarrod Kirk, Hayden Yates, KC Edmonds, Jackson Myers, Jack Lumby, Jordan Mitchell.
