City and Kahibah are only separated by half-a-point on the standings, with the unbeaten Raymond Terrace holding a game in hand over both sides.
City skipper DJ Dilworth said an away victory this weekend would give the team a strong chance of being one of the two teams to advance from Hunter Section 1 to the regional play-offs.
Maitland had a comfortable win against Charlestown at home last week, following a narrow away loss to Raymond Terrace on synthetic greens.
Kahibah had an away win against Cardiff.
“We pushed Raymond Terrace pretty close and they have a strong home-green advantage,” Dilworth said.
“We still get to face them and Kahibah at home so if we can get the points this week we are in a strong position to make the play-offs.”
