The Rotary Club of Maitland Sunrise has shown its commitment to fighting domestic violence with an $8000 donation to White Ribbon Australia.

The community group raised the money through their annual golf day in March.
They presented the cheque to White Ribbon ambassador Jon Chin last week.
White Ribbon Australia thanked the club online, noting that the funds would directly assist domestic violence prevention work in schools, workplaces and communities across the country.
Funds were raised through teams, sponsorship and raffles with donated prizes.
The major sponsor, Daracon, donated $2000.
Numerous business across the local area donated hundreds of dollars each.
Pat Mears of Sunrise Rotary thanked the donors for their generosity.
