This Saturday 20,000 people will pour into town to see national and international acts take the stage for regional Australia’s major music festival.
Maitland City Council advised the community that temporary road changes would be implemented to deal with the enormous crowds and traffic.
Temporary road closures will be in place between 8am and midnight on Saturday at:
- Anzac Street - from Cracknell Lane to Blomfield Street
- Blomfield Street - from Anzac Street to Devonshire Street
- Gipps Street - from Blomfield Street to car park area

- Rose Street - from Cross Street to Blomfield Street
Temporary no parking zone will be in place from 8am Saturday to noon Sunday at:
- Both sides of Louth Park Road - from Les Darcy Drive to Trappaud Road
- North side of Cracknell Lane - from Anzac Street to Cultivation Road
- Both sides of Cultivation Road - from Cracknell Lane to Trappaud Road
Cultivation Road and parts of Louth Park Road will also become one way from 8am Saturday morning until midnight.
Groovin The Moo promoter from Cattleyard Promotions Stephen Halpin said he’d seen the festival grow beyond his expectations over the last 12 years.
“It brings that energy to a town,” he said.
“Groovin now has its own culture, and I think it ads to the culture of the towns. The crowd really takes over the town and I like to think it brings a good vibe.”
Mr Halpin said that while exact figures weren’t available for Maitland he estimated the city would see an economic injection of between $2.5 and $3 million.
Groovin The Moo will kick off on Saturday from 11am at Maitland Showground.
