Club sponsorship and promotions manager Fred Robertson said Mr Shire only needs to overcome the four box in race six, the Clocktower Hotel Grafton Stakes over 565 metres, to add to his tally of seven wins and seven placings from 15 starts.
The son of Magic Sprite and Slick Exit was impressive in his first run at Maitland last week with a slick 31.72s for the 565m and a repeat of that effort should see him salute again on Thursday.
Another one to watch is the Ray Morris-trained Duck's Luck in race eight, the Brodie Wells Electrical Stakes over 450m.
Duck's Luck has a personal best of 24.84s for the journey and he comes into this race on the back of second placing behind Mr Shire last week.
The first race is at 3.23pm.
