Maitland Blacks club favourites Darren Mahony and Dan Runchel celebrated their 300th and 200th games respectively at Marcellin Park on Saturday.

A guard of honour formed by juniors and former players chanted “Blacks, Blacks, Blacks” as Mahoney and Runchel ran out onto the ground against Singleton Bulls in the third grade fixture.
Mahony is the first back to play 300 games with the club and only the fifth player in the Blacks’ 139-year history.
Runchel’s 200th game includes 172 first grade games.
It’s a vital games for the Blacks first grade team, with a logjam on the ladder from third to sixth vying for spots in the semi-finals with three rounds remaining.
Singleton are last on the ladder, but the derby match with Maitland always brings out their best.
