The John Cassidy-trained Gadooga needs only a clear run to show its best form and reward punters at good odds in the third heat of the Monthly Medal over 450 metres at Maitland on Thursday afternoon.

Maitland Greyhound Club sponsorship and promotions manager Fred Robertson rated Gadooga his best bet of the day saying the son of Barcia Bale and Sins Sister had won two in a row over the distance at Maitland prior to an unlucky fifth last week.
Robertson said Gadooga likes to use plenty of the track and appears well boxed out wide in the eight.
The four heats of the Monthly Medal have attracted some of the Hunter's best middle-distance sprinters with $3500 on offer to the winner of next week's final.
The first race starts at 3.26pm and punters keen to start the day on a winning note would do well to get on the Jason Mackay-trained Kong in race one, the ClassicBet Maiden over 450m.
Kong clocked a sizzling 25.05s in a performance trial at Maitland last Thursday and a repeat of that effort would likely see the son on Magambo and Fantasy Royale win by a good margin.
