Event organiser Paul Humphreys, of local sports event company H Events, said Edgar, who rides with a blade, was stepping up from the 15km to the much harder 30km ride.
“This will be a real challenge given the steepness of the hills in Wollombi,” Humphreys said.
“John Domandl, who is vision impaired and will ride a tandem bike, is also taking on the 30km course, which is also a big call on some big hills and rough terrain.”
Humphreys said the event was being held to promote mountain bike riding, and health and fitness.
There are a variety of courses. Entry details and directions to the Wollombi course are available online at www.wollombiwildride.net.
