Club champions will be decided in five divisions with three division titles set to go right to the wire.
Added to the intrigue of the championship chase is that the three keenly contested divisions will be the battle between local and visiting riders.
Heddon Greta rider Josh Pickering went to the top of the ladder in the Senior 500cc A Grade solo in the previous round.
He took full advantage of a lacklustre performance by former ladder leader Zaine Kennedy (Queensland) to build a seven point lead.
Pickering is well aware that consistent race results will be needed for him to wrap up the club championship.
Cessnock rider Alan MacDonald, had shared the lead with Kennedy, but he and brother Josh missed the last race as they were both in the UK setting groundwork in an attempt to secure a contract in the 2017 British Speedway League.
Jack Miles (Kurri Kurri) and Maurice Brown (Cowra) top the ladder in the Junior 125cc solo division.
Miles has the opportunity to defend the Junior 125cc Championship and is sure to receive plenty of local support.
Junior 125cc solo riders will also be competing for the coveted Todd Wiltshire Trophy.
The event is held annually to pay tribute to the Lake Macquarie rider who has won two Australian Speedway Solo titles and the Intercontinental championship.
The gap is even closer in the Junior 250cc solo division.
Dual World Under 16 Junior 250ccSpeedway Solo Champion, Matthew Gilmore (Cowra) has a one point lead over Cessnock's Isaac Hawes.
Racing starts at 11am with the Junior 125cc solo events, followed by the Junior 250cc, solo, senior solo and senior sidecar events set to get underway about 12.30pm.
