The Roosters claimed their fourth premiership with a 6.7.43 to 2.4.16 win over Maitland.
It was Singleton’s first flag since 2012 and a significant turnaround from a club that struggled last year to field two teams.
Maitland can take heart from continued improvement the club has shown each year since their inception in 2012 and with another preseason under their belt they will have the body-strength to match opponents in all conditions..
Singleton opened the day kicking with the aid of the wind and two goals to Granland Medal winner, Alex Mitchell saw the Roosters lead by 14 points at the first change.
Maitland were able to reduce the deficit to five points at the long break courtesy of a goal to livewire forward, Josh Button.
Singleton blew the game open in the third term and with best on ground recipient Andrew Scott, David Oman and Mitchell taking control the Roosters were able to kick three unanswered goals and led by 28 points at the final break.
The Saints were unable to get clean entry into the forward line to mount a serious challenge in the last quarter and in the end the final margin of 27 points was a fair reflection of the game.
Scott, Oman, Mitchell (three goals, Sam Brasington and Daine Cowburn were best for Singleton while Aiden Damico, youngster Riley Newstead, Ben Crowley and skipper Rob Eddy were Maitland’s best.
