Mrs Shultz will host the Get Gutsy Gala at Maitland Leagues Club this Saturday to raise money and awareness for inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) like Crohn’s. Mrs Shultz said it’s time to break down misconceptions about the disease, and raise awareness to help sufferers.
“So many people in the Hunter are living with Crohn’s disease, and not a lot of people are talking about it,” she said.
The fundraiser will feature Troy Kemp Country Band, a charity auction and a raffle.
Mrs Shultz said she has high hopes that the fundraiser will raise much needed awareness and funds for sufferers of IBD and researchers looking for a cure.
“If I can change just one life I’ll be happy. I’m doing this for my kids, I’m doing this for my husband and I’m doing this for the IBD community,” she said.
Tickets are $45. It begins at 5.30pm.
